The mission of UHI’s Liberian Women’s Sewing Cooperative is to create sustainable employment opportunities for women in Liberia. UHI is providing the intial funding for women in Monrovia, Liberia to make products to be sold in the United States.

The first product to be produced by the women is a reusable, environmentally friendly cupsleeve for coffee and tea.

The cupsleeves are now on sale in local independent coffee shops: Infusion Coffee & Tea, Green Line Cafe, & Elcy’s Cafe.
