Corporate Responsibility
When considering which public charity to donate to, many people are concerned with exactly how their money will be spent by the non-profit organization. UHI believes that non-profit organizations, as corporations, should not be exempt from corporate responsibility and good governance practices. In furtherance of this goal, UHI will:
- Continue to operate with an all volunteer staff. No compensation will be paid to UHI staff members.
- Place appropriate limitations on the amount of contributions spent on administrative and fundraising costs.
- Raise funds for administrative and fundraising costs primarily through admission charges at specific social events and through donations from donors who either explicitly state that their donation can go to administrative and/or fundraising costs or do not indicate a preference as to where their donation is used.
- Upon written request, make our budget information from the previous fiscal year available to the public.
